Instructional Activities
Students will take 20-30 minutes to present their prior knowledge about debts as a group. This discussion will include identifying individuals or businesses that they are aware of that have debt issues; and what they know about the debt problems of this country. Students will use 20-30 minutes to respond to a handout where they can create good questions to research about debt issues for businesses, for this country or for personal debts. Students will work in groups to locate links that gives results to their inquiry about debts. They will use two class periods to complete this. The groups may decide how they want to record the research results using a word processing to create notes; Inspiration software, or index cards. Assessments and Monitor Students will turn in all handouts. I will conference with each group about the results from their completed handouts. Students will present their results of the research choosing Power Point presentations or using the LCD to present the results from their computer. Students will complete a word document writing the results of their research.
